Point System in ICC Twenty20 world Cup 2007

Twenty20 cricket world cup is going to begin from today, September 11 2007 in South Africa.

Here is the point system for each win, loss and what in case of tie.

Points in the group stage and Super Eight stage were awarded as follows:

Win - 2 points

No Result - 1 point

Loss - 0 points


Other Rules

In the event of tied scores after both teams have faced their quota of overs, a bowl-out will determine the winner, even in the group stage.

In the group stage and Super Eights, teams will be ranked on the following criteria:

1. Higher number of points
2. If equal, higher number of wins
3. If still equal, net run rate
4. If still equal, higher bowling strike rate
5. If still equal, result of head to head meeting.
